Parking on Campus
Permits:
Valid parking permits must be displayed on all vehicles – including motorcycles and mopeds – parked on Campus between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m, Monday to Friday.Parking for vehicles are available on a “scramble” basis within all regular student parking areas ONLY. After 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and on weekends, free parking is available in most staff, student, meter, and pay & display lots. This does not include 24-hour reserved areas, restricted areas, “N” lot (evening and weekends) and the University Parkade.

Accomodations CEEA 2012
Conference delegates will be able to stay on the University of Manitoba campus – in close proximity to conference events, or off-campus at local hotels or other accommodations. For your convenience we have reserved a block of rooms at a nearby hotel – CanadInns Fort Garry, within 30 minute walking distance. We highly recommend that you reserve your accommodation as early as possible to ensure availability of space. June is a very busy month within the Winnipeg area and as such accommodations may be very difficult to secure if not booked early.

Pembina Hall Residence, our newest residence, opened on September 3, 2011. It houses 360 students in a contemporary, urban style high-rise building situated above the existing Pembina Hall Building and Dining Room. All 360 units are single rooms with an exterior glass wall providing plenty of natural light and excellent views of the campus to the north and the Red River to the south. The clear span construction will provide residents with an amazing view of the Red River as it winds its way through campus. Each room is complete with its own private bathroom and shower. Free wireless Internet is available throughout the entire building with additional wired in-room options for Internet, television, and telephone. Each of the ten residence floors has a lounge with a kitchenette, soft seating, and a flat screen HD television. The lounge on the 4th floor will has a fully equipped kitchen for community use. Laundry facilities are located on the second floor.

Single rooms only are available for conference delegates in the NEWEST University of Manitoba student residence ‘Pembina Hall’. All rooms are single accommodations with Private Bathrooms, $65 tax included/ night, is comprised of one single (36”Wx80”L) bed. Each room provides clean, simple accommodation with a bed, desk, chair dresser, closet and private full bathroom with shower. The rooms reserved for the dates of the CEEA conference will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and there are a limited amount of rooms available. The hold on these rooms will be released back to the University on May 15, 2012. Book your rooms early to avoid disappointment!
Towels & Toiletries
Each guest will be provided with fresh bed linens, towels, and facecloth. Please bring your own soap, shampoo and other personal care products. Full linen changed every 3 days. If you happen to forget something, a pharmacy is available in University Centre at the heart of the campus (open Monday to Friday during business hours only).
Bathrooms & Laundromat
Daily cleaning of washroom and towels. Laundry facilities are located on the second floor. Cost $0.75 for wash and $0.75 for dry. Laundry card system available via the front desk. Detergent can be purchased at the pharmacy in University Centre at the heart of the campus (open Monday to Friday during business hours only).
Wireless
Residence guests can gain access to the wireless local area network. Please contact the front desk for additional information.
Telephones
Courtesy phone for local calls only in theArthur V. Mauro Residence located across the street. A pay telephone is located in the Mary Speechly Hall which is attached. Local payphone calls are $.50 per call.
Check-in / Check-out
Check-in is available after 3:00 pm and Check-out is at 10:00 am. For special arrangements for earlier check in or later check out please contact the reservation desk directly. There will be a luggage room available to store your luggage for you. We will also offer a luggage room on site at the EITC Building.
The reservation or check-in desk is located inside the main entrance of the Pembina Hall Residence on the University of Manitoba campus. (Most Unicity taxi drivers are familiar with the University of Manitoba campus – their number is 204-925-3131).
Keys must be returned to the reservation/check-in desk in Hatcher House prior to your departure. Failure to do so will result in a $100 charge.
Security
Front desk is open 24 hours. Security on building site from 12 midnight to 8:00 am. Campus security 24 hours. The residence buildings are locked 24 hours a day for your security.
Smoking
The University of Manitoiba campus is smoke free. Smoking is not permitted inside buildings or inside your room.
