Join the Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA-ACÉG) at Western University for its 2027 annual conference, bringing together educators, researchers, students, and industry professionals to explore how engineering education can better connect academic learning with the needs of practice, policy, and communities.

Under the theme “Reimagining the Ivory Tower: From Learner to Collaborator to Engineer,” the conference invites us to reflect on how we prepare students to move beyond the classroom, work across boundaries, and contribute to society as responsible, resilient, and socially responsive engineers. Together, we will explore how stronger connections with engineering practice, policy, and community needs can enrich engineering education and how the classroom experiences can help students become effective collaborators. To respond meaningfully to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, we commit to work for decolonization and value Indigenous voices and ways of knowing in engineering education. Through workshops, conference sessions, and all other gatherings, participants will share research, exchange teaching practices, and explore these possibilities together.

Whether you are advancing engineering education research, rethinking your teaching, or strengthening partnerships beyond the university, we invite you to bring your ideas and experiences to CEEA-ACÉG 2027.

Western’s commitment to sustainability, equity, and inclusion will help shape the conference experience. A children’s camp featuring hands-on science and engineering activities is also planned for the conference week to support participation by attendees with families.
